The Mac OS Extended Format (also known as HFS Plus) is a new disk format that increases the number of allocation blocks on a disk, thus decreasing the size of each allocation block. Smaller allocation blocks mean substantially less wasted disk space at the end of each file. More allocation blocks mean you can have more files on your disk because the available space can be more finely distributed among a larger number of files.
PlusMaximizer allows you to initialize disks so they have the maximum disk storage efficiency. It uses an allocation block size that is a tiny 0.5 KB-the smallest possible and it incurs no disk performance penalties! This makes your file storage up to 8 times more efficient than it will be with Mac OS Extended, and up to 100's of times more efficient than with Mac OS Standard!

PlusMaximizer requires Mac OS 8.1 through Mac OS 9.2.2. PlusMaximizer creates a true Mac OS Extended disk. This disk can be used on any computer with Mac OS 8.1 or later (including Mac OS X) installed without any additional software, including PlusMaximizer itself.
Mac OS X Compatibility (including 10.3.x)
PlusMaximizer will not run in Mac OS X nor in its Classic environment. Disks initialized by PlusMaximizer are completely compatible with Mac OS X (10.0 through 10.3.x).
