simple irc is an IRC client for Mac OS X written from scratch with REALbasic 5.2.4.
No testing has been done on Mac OS X prior to 10.4.2.
Here are some key features of "simple irc":
Themes for changing the appearance (theme tutorial)
Custom away, part, and quit messages
Favorite server menu
Multiple channel support
Autoconnect to a server on start-up
Auto-identify on connection
Built-in iTunes currently-playing feature.
What's New:
[CHG] Quotes are not used in the themes anymore. This means you can use double quotes for nickname delimiters. This version will automatically convert themes for beta 3 to beta 4 when they are opened but it will not alter the file.
[NEW] For first time users, default preferences are set when you choose your nickname.
[CHG] Improved parser, eliminates some bugs.
[FIX] When receiving a CTCP ACTION it displays properly.
[FIX] JOIN, PART and QUIT messages display properly.
[NEW] Set part, quit, and away messages in the preferences.
[NEW] /clear command to clear the screen.
[CHG] No longer shows 'PING PONG' when the server pings the client.
