Set iChat Status is a totally impractical app I wrote, because I had too many status messages saved in iChat, and the scrolling annoyed me.
It's dead simple. Pick a status, enter a message, (or not) and click okay, or hit enter.

That's it. It's not querying anything, it's not talking to any other application.
It's a .sitx file, so if your browser tries to download it as text, let it, save the file as text with a .sitx extension, and open it in Stuffit Expander, and Bob's Your Uncle.

Requirements:
iChat 2.0 or greater. (iChat 1.X didn't have an applescript dictionary so this won't work with that version. Period.)
Works with current version of iChat in Mac OS X 10.4.7. It should work with earlier versions of the OS, but no guarantees.
