RBVersioner is a tool to manage REALbasic "rbx" style plugins.
RBVersioner is a tool to manage REALbasic "rbx" style plugins. The rbx format for plugins is a cross platform plugin format. There are many advantages to the rbx format, but version control is not one of them. In the design of the rbx format, REAL Software did not define a convention for representing the version numbers of plugins. With the old style plugins you could get the version number from the Finder. With the new rbx format, this is not available.
Given that plugin vendors are now beginning to move exclusively to the rbx format, this creates a problem for managing plugins from different vendors. The problem is compounded by the fact that each vendor has a different method of handling version numbers ranging from doing nothing to implementing their own proprietary solution. If you deal with a lot of plugins and/or support team development, this situation becomes a mess to handle.
RBVersioner is designed to handle plugin version management independent of what any vendor chooses to do for version management. It also goes one step further and provides functionality to manage your set of plugins and their distribution throughout the organization.
RBVersioner is "donation-ware" with a minimum donation being $10. If you find this tool useful, then please make a donation. If you are deploying this tool in a team development environment, then please consider making a larger donation. All we ask is that you consider what the tool is worth to you and make a donation in proportion to that value. Consider that a fair amount of work went into the creation of RBVersioner.
A "Copy Plugin List" menu item was added to allow you to copy the list of plugins to the clipboard. This is useful for pasting into emails etc.
Einhugur version information is now read by RBVersioner and incorporated into its version information.
The plugin list may now be printed.
Set watch cursor when opening a plugin folder (visual feedback).
Fixed a bug when the target plugin folder contained a new plugin and you did a comparison with the master folder.
