Most accounting programs are too expensive and too difficult to use for someone who isn't an accountant. A simple cash balance program doesn't tell you, for example, how much money you spend monthly for food etc. or with credit cards.
However - my wife is an accountant and has very high demands on an accounting program. So I developed a program for my wife. The first version of my program was developed on an old Apple //e and my wife was very happy with it. During the development stage I had to find a compromise between the best possible operation for an accountant and the interface of the Macintosh. I hope I found the golden mean.
"Mac-HaBu" offers two accounting methods. By "yearly accounting" the payment- and current accounts will be zeroed yearly, as in business life. However, for private use the monthly account is definitely more interesting. In this mode the inventory accounts, will be zeroed monthly.

Added an interface to "BankX". This is an online banking program in Germany.
