The world's premier shepherd and guardian of bookmarks for your Macintosh.

Computers know their A-B-Cs and how to keep up to date. For example, you can throw files into a folder, hit View as List" and the Macintosh Finder will display them in alphabetical order.

Is there an update to the MacOS? Apple's Software Update will tell you about it. But someone forgot these tricks when web browsers were developed, and today most web browsers, Safari included, do no automatic sorting (alphabetizing) or other maintenance of your bookmarks.

Bookdog, the successor of the popular SafariSorter application, does the sorting so that organized people like you will no longer have to spend time alphabetizing your bookmarks manually, and also allows you to manage duplicate bookmarks.

After you install Bookdog, you spend a few minutes adjusting how you want your bookmarks sorted (or just accept the default of sort everything, by name), click Sort and within seconds your bookmarks are all in order! Browse the Bookmarks Outline to make a few tweaks, reorganize if you want to, and sort again. Done! Just give Bookdog a time when you'd like your bookmarks re-sorted every day, and he will silently re-sort to include any new bookmarks you've added. Automatically.

Do you seem to have alot of bookmarks that don't work anymore? Tell Bookdog to Verify. He'll go fetch all your bookmarks, present a comprehensive report, give you some options on how he can automatically fix the ones that have been "redirected", and finally an easy-to-use dialog which allows you to quickly review and fix the remainder.

Here are some key features of "SafariSorter":
Managed bookmarks are seamlessly available to Safari, Camino, Firefox, Opera and OmniWeb.
Exclusive PowerPaws technology can sort all your bookmarks with just one click.
Finds duplicate bookmarks (same URL), and provides an easy dialog for fixing them.
Verifies bookmarks, with options to automatically update various redirects.
Intuitive interface explains and helps you quickly fix broken bookmarks.
May be set to sort automatically, without disturbing you.
Can avoid duplicates in migrating among browsers.
Migration copies all bookmarks attributes supported by destination browser.
Searches all your bookmarks, in all browsers, in milliseconds.
Exclusive Fetchback ensures no data loss with future browser updates or extensions.
Automatically supports multiple Firefox profiles.
Easy to indicate which folders you want to be sorted or not sorted.
Can sort by bookmark name, by url, or by domain/host/path.
Safe! is not a Safari plug-in; does not "hack" Safari !
Product quality tested since January 2004 by thousands of satisfied SafariSorter users.
Universal. Native running on either PowerPC-based Macs and the new Intel-based Macs.

Requirements:
Mac OS X version 10.3.9 or later to manage Safari, Camino, Firefox and/or Opera bookmarks.
To manage Firefox bookmarks, your Firefox must be 1.5 or later.
To manage OmniWeb bookmarks, your OmniWeb must be 5.0 or later (which requires Mac OS 10.4 or later).

What's New:
Added PopUp Menu: "Expand to depth..." in Main Window. This allows the user to select the depth of subfolders which are expanded in the bookmarks Outline View, expanding and collapsing subfolders as needed. The next time Bookdog is launched, Bookdog sets it to the depth last used. The depth is remembered independently for each browser's Main Window.
Fixed a bug which could cause slow response when editing items after a contextual menu command "Copy to" or "Move to" has been invoked.
