Whamb is a skinnable digital audio player for Mac OS X. For now, it supports Audio CDs, MP3 and Ogg Vorbis files and Internet streams. Share now your music on your local area network! Whamb is the first to use Rendezvous technology to offer you a easy way to share your playlists and songs, without any configuration required. Indeed, Rendezvous's advantage is to be "zeroconf".

The first idea behind Whamb was first to build a light and fast MP3/OGG player for Mac OS X only. After the loss of some cool players running on Mac OS 9.x, you, user, didn't have a lot of choice on OS X. Whamb isn't ported from Classic/OS 9, it is build for Mac OS X and can't run on Classic. Whamb takes part of the new Mac OS X technologies like CoreAudio, CoreGraphics ("Quartz"), Mach threads, and a few optimizations for G4 (Altivec).
