vID Infiltr8 is an opensourced metadata tagger for MPEG-4 files.
The opensourced command line program AtomicParsley is wrapped in a familiar GUI to set persistent metadata into files. Multiple pieces of artwork & a subset of video-related tags are supported. Batch editing is fully supported and contains a number of preferences items to facilitate fast tagging. Artwork can be limited by filesize, dimension & can be squared up.
Using the preferences, the table can be adapted to display selective tags - to see at a glance what needs to be done.
Many tags that iTunes hides from end-users are supported (and the other known tags carried on atoms are supported by AtomicParsley).

What's New:
Updated AtomicParsley build (post 0.8.4; Feb 28 cvs)
added to address iSquint's unmuxed mp4 files & faac/libmp4v2 artwork.
