Tomcat Monitor is a simple GUI server monitoring tool for Jakarta Tomcat by Apache. It shows the current server state (running or not) both graphically and textually, both in a window, and in the dock icon.

It also has start, stop, and reset buttons (and dock menu items) for the server - these just execute the startup.sh and shutdown.sh scripts in the bin directory of the Tomcat installation.

If Tomcat is running, the cat icon will be right side up. If it's not running, it will be upside down.

This program may be handy to people who are learning how to use Tomcat for Java Servelets or JSP. Sometimes it's easier to start/stop the server from the dock menu than from a terminal window.

Here are some key features of "Tomcat Monitor":
Start, stop or reset the server.
Can be controlled from dock menu.
Status displayed graphically and textually.
Not too fancy, but it's convenient, and it's free!

What's New:
Now works with Mac OS X 10.3 and higher.

Requirements:
tested with Jakarta Tomcat version 4.1.27 on Mac OS X 10.2.6, but should work with other combinations.
