Sunlit Earth Widget is a simple and aesthetic widget that will display the sunlit portion of the Earth. The widget updates once per minute. The Earth images used by the widget are courtesy NASA and NASA’s Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS).
Now the widget allows you to lock on a specific longitude or the Sun. When locked on the Sun, the sunlit region remains centered. You can also choose to show or hide the sun icon. Now renders image much faster than previous version.
What's New:
To lock on a longitude, Command + Click (or right-click) on the longitude you want centered, then select “Lock On Cursor” from the pop-up menu that appears.
To lock on the Sun, Command + Click (or right-click) anywhere on the image, then select “Lock On Sun” from the pop-up menu that appears.
To hide/show the Sun or reset the widget, Command + Click (or right-click) anywhere on the image, then select the appropriate menu option from the pop-up menu that appears.
