My reason for writing N0ONG BC895XLT Interface was when I replaced my 20 channel Radio Shack 2020 scanner with the 300 channel BC895XLT scanner I could no longer remember who the frequencies belonged to.
Now when the scanner stops on a preprogrammed frequency I can tell at a glance who it is. The large alpha tag is easy to read along with the received signal strength. Plus I no longer have to try and punch in frequencies from the little keypad. My scanner is out of my reach from my desk and the remote control is great.
Here are some key features of "N0ONG BC895XLT Interface":
Received Signal Strength Meter.
Large Display of the current frequency.
Add Alpha Tagging to the frequencies you listen to. (Trunking mode not supported)
Select Channel Bank from pop-up menu.
Search pre programed search ranges.
Set you own search range.
Load Frequencies into the scanner from the computer keyboard. So much easier to copy and paste from a text file rather than using the BC895XLT tiny keypad.
Manage your scanner banks.
Adjust volume (If you plug the external speaker jack into your Mac)
Audio Peaks from received scanner audio are displayed. (If you plug the external speaker jack into your Mac)
10-Codes available from a pop-up menu. Can't remember that 10 code? Just check the built in menu.
Export frequency lists as simple text files for your records or to share with friends.
