MapIt ioffers you a page plugin for RapidWeaver that allows you to easily configure a page to display your own Google Map. No need to worry about HTML, JavaScript, or the Google API; just fill in the fields and go.

Map-It is page plugin that (hopefully) will make it easy for you to configure and include a Google Map for your web site that you've created using RapidWeaver.

We're going to assume you are reasonably familiar with the RapidWeaver (often call "RW" herein) application and interface so you should be able to "jump right in" without too much effort.

Since our plugin is using Google Map API there are a few things to be aware of.

Each map base URL requires its own license key from Google. These are free but something that you must manage. There are some tips on how to organize your web site to minimize the number of keys you will require. Also, because of Google's licensing strategy you won't be able to view your map in "Preview Mode".

Maps use latitude and longitude coordinates so you may want to use geocoder.us to translate a given address to a lat-long.

Other than that, you might want to take a quick tour of the Google Map system before getting started. Then you should be ready to start. Just create a Map-It page and fill out the form.

Requirements:
RapidWeaver 3.2

Limitations:

Map-It! leverages Google's Map API which, itself, requires some more recently introduced browser features. So please be aware that (according to Google), only the following browsers are (pretty much) guaranteed to work.
Supported Browsers
IE 5.5+
Firefox 0.8+
Safari 1.2.4+
Netscape 7.1+
Mozilla 1.4+
Opera 7+
