DVDRemaster is an utility for Mac OS X to recompress large DVDs so that they fit on standard DVD5.

DVDRemaster can work in two modes. It can either preserve all tracks (including menus, multiangle, commentaries, other languages, ...) or work in "Movie Only" mode where everything but the main feature is discarded, thus leaving more space for the main feature and a better quality of image.

Limitations:
There is no limit on how long you can use it, or how much data can be recompressed, but the image will be crippled during 5 seconds every minutes.

Requirements:
Max OS X 10.3.9 or higher (10.4 required for burning).

What's New:
Support for the new iPod video format (640x480).
Fixed an issue where subtitles would sometimes become out of sync.
Added volume adjustment for iPod encoding.
Added support for DVDs with MP3 audio tracks.
