The CmapServer enables users anywhere on the Internet to collaborate during the construction of their Cmaps, share the knowledge models they build, and browse, critique and comment on others’ Cmaps.
The CmapServer acts as a shared repository for Knowledge Models, Knowledge Soups, an index for searching for Cmaps and resources, enables collaboration through Discussion Threads and Synchronous Collaboration during Cmap editing, and automatically provides Web-page versions of the concept maps.
Concept maps in a CmapServer can have links to Cmaps and other types of resources on other CmapServers.
What's New:
Fixed the default value of the log files in the configuration file of CmapTools and CmapServer.
Incorporated Java v1.5.0_06 as part of the CmapTools and CmapServer installations. This version of Java allows for long paths to folders, Cmaps, and resources, however Windows still has this limitation outside of CmapTools and CmapServer. The new Java runtime also corrected a problem with the DNS reverse lookup.
Requirements:
Java for Mac OS X version 1.4.2 or higher. You need to run the Mac software update utility to ensure you have the latest version of Java.
256 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended.
Disk space requirements: 150 MB of available hard disk space.
Keyboard and Mouse or compatible pointing device.
