1. Copy icon (Cmd+C)
2. Select Application
3. Right Click->Get Info (Cmd+i)
4. Select application icon in top left corner of window
5. Paste new icon (Cmd+V)

To revert default icon: Select icon in the top left corner of info window and delete it (backspace).
