Antigen is a free Mac game (a free PC game as well) that is a multi-scrolling shooter - aka shmup or shoot 'em up - involving viruses and bacteria.
When playing Antigen, viruses, toxins and bacteria are attempting to destroy you and your ship. Your goal is to annihilate these substances. Your survival will help you conquer the evil forces trying to harm you and cause your demise.
With the help of a radar minimap at the bottom of the screen, you will have an overview of the baddies approaching your ship. This is direly necessary as the radar view will aid in keeping you and your ship healthy.
Additionally, you have a running count located at the bottom left of your screen that will indicate three things: 1) which wave you're playing; 2) how many enemies are left; and, 3) how many lives you have left.
Collect bonuses being thrown at you. Proceed with caution. The longer you survive, the longer you'll play. That is not an easy task, so good luck. There is an unlimited number of waves (levels) in this game.
