Adobe Lightroom is the efficient new way for professional photographers to import, select, develop, and showcase large volumes of digital images.
So you can spend less time sorting and refining photographs, and more time actually shooting them.

Its clean, elegant interface literally steps out of the way and lets you quickly view and work with the images you shot today, as well as the thousands of images that you will shoot over the course of your career.
Because no two photographers work alike, Adobe Lightroom adapts to your workflow, not the other way around. Lightroom Beta lets you view, zoom in, and compare photographs quickly and easily.

Precise, photography-specific adjustments allow you to fine tune your images while maintaining the highest level of image quality from capture through output. And best of all, it runs on most commonly used computers, even notebook computers used on location.

Initially available as a beta for Macintosh, Lightroom will later support both the Windows and Macintosh platforms.

What's New:
Now available as a Universal Binary for compatibility with Intel- based Apple hardware
Crop and Straighten tools included in the Develop module
Ability to add music to slideshows
White balance support for the Nikon D2X, D2Hs and D50 cameras
Ability to create hierarchical keyword sets
XMP Import and Export capabilities. (Please consult Known Issues list for details)
Improved Edit in Photoshop capabilities
Improved metadata handling
IMPORTANT: Due to changes in the way Lightroom stores information internally in its database and the preliminary nature of the format used in Beta versions, it is necessary to upgrade any existing database when B2 is first launched. This can take a long time. Note that the old database file is preserved when this is done, so in case a problem is encountered, your original data is safe. While Lightroom is upgrading the database it may seem to be unresponsive, but it is important that you allow it to finish the process.

Requirements:
G4 or G5 processor (Yes, we will work on a PowerBook) / Intel
512MB RAM (preferably more)
1GB or more free hard drive space.
