Yank is an all-purpose uninstaller for Mac OS X. Yank can uninstall almost any software and all its support files, no matter how it was installed. The result is a leaner, faster, safer Macintosh.
Mac users usually remove software simply by deleting the program file from their hard disk. However, this does not remove the numerous support files that most programs sprinkle liberally through the user's file system. Because most Mac programs do not ship with uninstaller programs, these unneeded program support files accumulate on the hard drive, consuming disk space and possibly degrading system security and performance.
In the past, uninstaller products for the Mac have used unreliable search technologies to locate and remove software. Yank uses Matterform's new Sonar technology to log file system changes in real time, making Yank the first Mac program that can completely uninstall any software, regardless of the way it was installed.
The Yank File Sharing Service lets you uninstall software that you installed before you installed Yank.
What's New:
Universal binary support for the core Sonar technology.
The program interface still operates on Intel computers under the Rosetta emulation technology. Another update is planned later this year to provide full universal binary support.
The new version also includes a number of bug fixes and minor improvements.
