What's New:
[Fixed] UpdateGenie: Mac OSX – On some computers UpdateGenie failed to launch, causing an unexpected error. This issue has now been resolved.
[Fixed] UpdateGenie: Mac OSX – UpdateGenie now finds FileMaker successfully. Due to differences between users configuration, FileMaker on some computers could not be located automatically. This issue has been resolved.
[Fixed] UpdateGenie: Runtimes – At times UpdateGenie would appear to hang during the update process because it would wait for the runtime application to be launched the second time while the first launch (to read the version number) was still closing. UpdateGenie now waits 10 seconds after the first launch of the runtime application before it continues onto the second launch. Long delay periods for the closing splash screen may continue to affect the update process, so it’s best to keep the delay under 5 seconds.
[Changed] UpdateGenie: Windows – FileMaker 7 Runtime solutions had trouble updating because the runtime dll files were not being released by the operating system, treating them as opened even though FileMaker 7 was closed.
[Changed] UpdateGenie: Runtimes - Previously UpdateGenie would automatically locate the runtime executable file via the file extensions, which cased problems when the live solution folder was renamed or moved. Runtime users are now required to manually locate the solution folder.
[New] UpdateGenerator: New field called “Executable File Name” has been introduced. Runtime update packages now require the executable file name to be specified. Previously, UpdateGenie would automatically locate the runtime executable file via the file extensions, which caused problems when the live solution folder was renamed or moved. By specifying the name of the executable file, UpdateGenie can launch the runtime application consistently.
[New] UpdateGenerator: The field “Executable File Name” is validated when exiting UpdateGenerator ensuring a blank value cannot be used when building runtime update packages.
[New] UpdateGenerator: The Version File and Primary File extension is validated when exiting UpdateGenerator ensuring that .fp5 or .fp7 is not used when building runtime update packages.

Requirements:
FileMaker 7.0 or later.
