Celtx is a comprehensive software package designed for people who work in the Film, TV, Theatre, and New Media industries. It combines full-feature scriptwriting with media rich pre-production support and enables online collaboration.

Until Celtx, script writers were subjected to bloated and bug ridden software and the pre-production team had been ignored altogether. With Celtx, script writers enjoy using a clean and stable application that includes all the features they need to write. The pre-production team, for the first time, can now perform their production breakdown using software designed for that purpose. In addition to providing media rich tools to annotate the script, Celtx enables a project to be collaboratively shared with others.
Prior to Celtx, projects were completed using slip-sheeted, paper-based scripts maintained in bulky three ring binders that included hundreds, sometimes thousands, of attached pictures and hand written notes. Project information could only be shared in paper form.
Scripts written or imported into Celtx can be broken down digitally and, for the first time, easily shared with others to foster collaboration and creativity during the pre-production and production phases of film and TV making.

Here are some key features of "Celtx":
Write, import, edit and publish scripts using standard industry formatting
Manage pre-production tasks like location and talent scouting
Perform production breakdowns by adding media (sound files, video clips and digital pictures)
Collaborate with team members over the Internet.

What's New:
New Features
Right-Click Add
We added "right click" behavior in the Project Navigator (what we call the top left box with the folders) to make it easier to 'Add [an] Item' and 'Add [a] Folder'.
So 'Add' away.
Reports
Reports were a mess, so the improvements made are dramatic, even though we can do much more.
To that end, we're busy working on an entirely innovative approach to reports and publishing and sharing, but that won't be until September. So, in the meantime, we hope you like the changes that we have made to the layouts.
Bugs Squashed
Pagination
The "blank pages when script contains long action/dialog elements" is resolved.
And page numbers should always appear in a local print even if pagination is
disabled.
Scrolling
Scripts should now scroll smoothly, no more display issues when scrolling in the editor.
Media in Forms
You can now delete sound and video media from forms. Sorry about that one.
ET Calling Home
We've turned off the Splash page auto refresh. It wasn't really doing much and it was causing problems for people on dial-up (yes, incredibly, there are still people on dial-up ;)
Tagging a Scene not an Item
You can now tag a whole scene as opposed to having to tag an item. It is represented as a diamond icon in the script.
Reports
You can now select an Item while in a Report. No more 'Unresponsive Script' error.
And your Dialogue will maintain its formatting after generating a 'Report with Notes'.
F&R
As the pointy heads in the development department say, Find & Replace is now "persistent"
- ie. it no longer shuts off after each search.
Scene Headings
Issues with moving and deleting scenes after a cut and paste have been fixed.
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocius Bug
Long project titles no longer cause the 'OK' and 'Cancel' buttons to move
out of view.
