The purpose of The Three Frogs music game is to provide a music environment of music pattern discrimination for young music learners. Music, across all cultures and styles, is an infinite combination of rhythm patterns and tonal patterns. The Three Frogs focuses on the aural comprehension of music, not notational comprehension. Musicians may or may not use notation to create music.
The process of The Three Frogs is simple. The student is presented with a image of three frogs and a crown. The student may click each frog to hear its music pattern. Two of the frogs have the same music pattern, one of the frogs has a different music pattern. The student may click on the crown and drag the crown to the frog that has the different music pattern. Once the student has answered, the three frogs leap back onto the image and the question process is repeated.
