How to use
1 The simplest way to use SafariSIA is to assign a shortname to a URL.
For example, you can assign the shortname sia to the URL http://www.horneddragon.com/projects/safarisia/basic/. To access the site, you simply type shortname sia in the address bar and press return.
Title: SafariSIA product page
Shortname: sia
URL: http://www.horneddragon.com/projects/safarisia/basic/
( To assign shortnames, choose Preferences from the Safari menu and click SIA. )
2 Search your favorite sites using the address bar.
Let’s see an example for Google. You can assign the shortname google to the URL http://www.google.com/search?q=%@&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8. The important part of the URL is the %@. That’s the placeholder which will be replaced with your search query. To search google, you simply type shortname google, press space, enter the search query and press return.
Title: Google
Shortname: google
URL: http://www.google.com/search?q=%@&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
3 Ignore the search query for a search shortname (with has %@ in the URL).
In this case, SafariSIA will guess the base URL for you. For example, You assigned the shortname google to the URL http://www.google.com/search?q=%@&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8. When you type google and press return, you will visit http://www.google.com/ (which is the base URL SafariSIA guessed).
