Free Quicktime doesn't have an option for fast view/ slow motion view of movies on its controller (does Pro?), so this script acts as an "extended remote controller" to give those options.
Open a Quicktime movie, and click on QTXtndRemote. This will center the movie's window just under a list dialog at half size DV (aspect ratio 360x240). The code can be modified for size/ position. The options included are
- Slow Play
- Normal Play
- Fast Play
- Forward 5 seconds
- Back 5 seconds.
The code is very basic, so the list options can be modified to your needs. "Stop" and "Volume control" could be added for OS 9 users to compensate for the controller blocking the user from access the QT window controls. This is not a problem in X because the Finder doesn't present the dialogs and you can toggle between the two.
