PreferenceCommander can be used to view, edit, update, restore, & save sets of preferences for any application.
Here are some key features of "PreferenceCommander":
Quickly find any application by typing in the search field
Select the application to see its current preferences
Modify and update the preferences
Reset preferences to factory defaults
Double-click an application to quickly launch it
Manage sets of preferences and quickly install them.
Limitations:
You cannot save or print in demo mode.
What's New:
When you select an application, it's location and version number are shown in the new status button at the bottom of the window. If PreferenceCommander finds several versions of the same application, it will alert you on the button.
Clicking the status button shows you each instance of the application in Finder - a great way to route out old versions laying around!
You can add other application folders and immediately search them - see Preferences
If you have circularly linked file system, PreferenceCommander will launch anyway (fixes hang a few folks had on launch)
Expert stuff: You can set a Default to watch the apps being loaded:
defaults com.stone.PreferenceCommander Debug YES
If you don't want it loading a particular folder, make the folder end in a "#" and set this default:
defaults com.stone.PreferenceCommander OmitFoldersEndingInHashMark YES
