play list length calculates the duration of the list and displays it in a dialog as minutes and seconds, which is handy if you want to determine just how much more music you can place on a CD-R you are about to burn.

To use the script just save it in a folder called Scripts inside the iTunes folder in the Library folder in your Home folder. A Scripts menu will then appear in the iTunes menu bar and you can then run the script by choosing it in the menu.
