It's the latest craze sweeping the world! This logic-based mind-boggling number puzzle will drive you crazy and have you hooked in no time at all.
In case you've been living under a rock for the last few months and haven't heard of Sudoku, the object of the game is to complete the missing cells with the appropriate number using logic. It's really quite a simple concept but not so easy to complete.
The puzzle is a grid of 9x9 cells. Inside there are three 3x3 grids. Each row, column and 3x3 grid should contain all the numbers 1 thru 9 inclusive. Therefore, you cannot have the number 6 twice in the same row, column or 3x3 grid.
To start you off, a puzzle will already contain a handful of numbers fixed-in-place. The number of fixed digits will depend on the difficulty level of the particular puzzle. Typically, an easier puzzle may contain more fixed numbers and, in contrast, a more difficult puzzle will have fewer fixed numbers to begin with.
It's usual for serious Sudoku gamers to time themselves. Paragon Sudoku™ contains a built-in timer for your convenience which automatically starts timing when you create a new puzzle and automatically stops upon successful completion. Paragon Sudoku™ allows you to pause a puzzle at any time. You can also save your current puzzle for later. If you pause your puzzle, you cannot see the current puzzle numbers in the puzzle window - this is to prevent cheating!
Here are some key features of "Paragon Sudoku":
Puzzle size automatically resizes when you resize the window so you can have it as big or as small as you like
4 different difficulty levels
Ability to pause and save puzzles
Available for Macintosh OS X and Windows platforms
Simple, colorful and easy-to-read display with subtle sound effects
Unlike most other Sudoku programs, Paragon Sudoku™ doesn't instantly tell you when a number entered is correct/incorrect (let's face it... that's cheating and makes it no fun!)
Uses genuine puzzles from billions of combinations (a "genuine" puzzle is symetrical - just like a genuine crossword puzzle)
Ability to "pen" or "pencil" numbers in (it's easier on the eyes and brain!)
Ability to alter the color scheme
Stores your "best" completion times!
Limitations:
The demo version is limited to using the same 4 puzzles (one for each difficulty level).
