The software tools available in The Open MusicSystem (OMS) manage the flow of MIDIinformation between applications and MIDIhardware. A typical MIDI studio containsmultiple MIDI devices attached to one or moreMIDI interfaces. Without OMS, each individualMIDI application must keep track of allinterfaces, MIDI devices and data communication.

With OMS, all applicationssimply use the central, standardized MIDIcommunication offered by OMS. This is the fullversion of OMS, which is significantly largerthan the Lite version, but it does support morethan the standard Mac interface. This versionhas drivers for the Studio 4, 5LX, 64X, and64XTC interfaces.
