MPlayerOSX is binary distribution of MPlayer (The Movie Player for Linux) and comes with native GUI in Mac OS X. After installation you can simply (by Drag&Drop) play almost all 3ivx, DivX 3,4,5 and other codecs files in the window or fullscreen mode.
Rendering of very nice antialiased text-based subtitles is also supported.
Multimedia player with playlist, supporting playback of all widely used media types (MPEG 1-4, DivX, AVI, ASF, Ogg Vorbis, RealMedia, QuickTime Movie, MPEG layer 1-3, AC3, WindowsMediaAudio etc.) and movie subtitles of various formats (MicroDVD Player, Subrip, etc.).
It is based on MPlayer - movie player for linux.
MPlayer has very good postprocessing. On every image in the movie is applied a filter to reduce square areas, which comes from codec's compression algorithm.
What's New:
recompiled for macosx 10.4.
it's ONLY FOR 10.4. or better (if you have 10.3.xx use older version)
there is new -vo based on cocoa and coreimage
NO GUI CHANGES
there are problems with some audio files.
Requirements:
Mac OS 10.3.x or higher
PowerMac G4 is recommended because of support of AltiVec.
