MacStitch is an easy to use, yet extremely powerful computer program, which allows you to create cross stitch, tapestry, beadwork, knitting, and other similar sorts of designs. It lets you import scanned photos or clip art, chooses suitable colours for you, and converts these into designs, then lets you print out the designs in a variety of easy-to-read patterns on your own printer, together with an estimate of the amount of thread used.
MacStitch is intended to be similar to that of 'Studio' for the PC, and has been designed from the outset to be file-compatible, so that files can be easily ported to and from the Mac and PC, allowing you to design your own charts in the same sort of easy-to use manner for which we became popular on the PC.
Here are some key features of "MacStitch":
Work on a design of up to 999 x 999 stitches in size.
You can have up to 4 designs open on screen at once, (memory permitting) with copy and paste between them.
Up to 90 colors per design, chosen from thousands of built-in shades.
View, edit, and print in any of 5 styles:

-Symbol on Color
-Crosses on cloth simulation.
Import Images and covert them into a chart.
You can zoom in and out with over 25 zoom sizes.
Printing size and style matches the screen.
Work in full stitch, half stitch, french knots, beads, and backstitch from point to point, including between centres.
Copy & paste, including the ability to save copied areas as a motif library.
Copy also copies the screen to the clipboard as an image, for pasting into other applications.
