The Mac OS X Encoding Plethora OS X scripts let you encode or decode items by dropping them on the script or by using a contextual menu.
If the item is compressed, the script will decode it, otherwise it will encode. The collection includes editable scripts for B64/Mime, Gnutar, Gzip, Pax, Tar, UU, Zip, Z, cpio, tgz, Dmg ( create or mount a HFS or HFS+ disk image) and Encrypt (encrypt and decrypt files with the built-in OSSL tools).
