Kev's Preprocessor is a WebSTAR Plug-in allows you to do two things:
1) Restrict CGI programs from running from any folder on the hard disk or WebSTAR hierarchy. Unlike WebSTAR's built-in "restrict to cgi-bin", Kev's PreProcessor allows CGI programs to run from any folder you choose. This is useful if you have more than one person managing web sites on your Macintosh. Kev's PreProcessor will block any unauthorized URL with .CGI, .ACGI, or .SCRIPT in the name.
2) Allows you to have more than one index file. This is useful if you have web files coming from different authors. For example, I have four different index files: index.html, default.html, index.htm, default.htm - I do this to prevent Windows (blech!) users from having to rename their files when uploading, and letting UNIX users (most UNIX sites use index.html as the default page) upload files without having to rename them.
Kev's PreProcessor was developed using the WebSTAR 1.1 Plug-in API. It does not exclude your index files from using other plug-ins such as NetCloak or other non-preprocessor plug-ins. (i.e. your index files can still have NetCloak tags in them)
What's New:
Fixed problem with resolving aliases in URLs.
The plug-in will now resolve all aliases in the URL, regardless of whether it is within the WebSTAR hierarchy or not.
