iDrum adds the missing ingredient to your Mac-based home recording studio—a fully programmable drum machine. It’s just as easy to use as the hardware drum machines of yesteryear, but with all the flexibility of a software-based virtual instrument.
iDrum integrates seamlessly with Pro Tools (RTAS), GarageBand, Logic, Digital Performer and other applications that support AudioUnit plug-ins—or you can run it as a standalone application. Create drum patterns in iDrum right alongside your existing tracks, perfectly in time, all the time. Or use iDrum as the backbeat when you’re laying down new tracks. Use the hundreds of included pre-programmed patterns and rhythms or roll your own.
iDrum features an array of sound-shaping DSP functions like filters, amp envelope, and even crunchy old-school drum machine bit-reduction.
You can load any AIFF or WAV sound file up to 2MB in size as a drum sample, making iDrum’s sonic palette limited only by your imagination. iDrum will also export your patterns and songs as AIFF audio, MIDI and GarageBand-compatible AIFF for further editing.
Get your drum machine on in Mac OS X. iDrum turns any Macintosh computer running Mac OS X 10.2 or later into a slamming beatbox ready to lay down your grooves, your way. From ambient downtempo to bangin' hip hop to frenetic drum and bass, iDrum has got your back (beat). Easy. Fun. Dope. That's how people from professional musicians to our parents (who definitely aren't pro musicians) are describing iDrum. And that's great, because we set out to make an easy, fun, dope drum machine.
Drum machine neophytes will get to experience the same magical 'instant-gratification' fun that hooked an entire generation of musicians on the hardware drum machines of yesteryear. Pros will find that there's simply no faster, easier way to access and manage large unwieldly drum sample libraries, get a phat beat going, and get it exported into the format you need. (And for less money than a replacement pad for your MPC 3).
Seamless integration with GarageBand and Logic. iDrum runs as both a standalone native OS X application and as a plug-in for Apple's GarageBand and Logic applications. This means you can use iDrum to create beats from right within your favorite music software environment, perfectly synced with your arrangement and always right where you left it when you return to your project after your next world tour.
Hundreds of samples and kits. Infinite possibilites. iDrum comes with hundreds of tight drum samples arranged in nearly two hundred iDrum files, each with several preset patterns programmed by some of the best beatmeisters working today. But these beats are just the beginning. You can mix and match parts and samples between kits, and even load your own AIFF and WAV drum samples. The possibilities for beat creation are virtually endless.
Take it for a spin. We could sit here all day and talk about how great iDrum is, but it’s one of those things you really have to experience for yourself. Snag the two-week full-featured demo using the download link and find out how deep iDrum really is.
Play that Beat. Don't feel like pushing buttons with your mouse? Prefer to bang on things instead? iDrum has you covered. Use Record mode to tap out beats on an attached MIDI keyboard, or even using your computer keyboard.
Samples Reloaded. If you ever run through all the drum sounds that come with iDrum (and that would take you a long, long time), you can drag any AIFF or WAV file up to 2MB in size into iDrum's channel window.
Pattern-alooza. Store up to 99 patterns in a single iDrum file, along with all the drum sounds you used to make your beat.
Parts galore. iDrum comes with dozens of part presets—a unique feature that makes it incredibly easy to create amazingly cool beats by simply mixing and matching parts and samples—even if you've never programmed a beat before. You can even add your own parts to iDrum's part preset library so they’re always accessible.
