Well, now you can.

Google Reader Notifier is a small menubar tool that fits in perfectly along the official Google Notifier icons for Mac. It tells you when you have new unread items in your Google Reader account.Google Reader Notifier is in no way affiliated with Google corp.

Corrected bug with growl & and " etc.
Added "subscribe feed" button
Corrected font-style of statusitem no. count to match Google Notifier
Added optional-click to mark single item as read (and possibly star it too for later viewing)
