File Transmogrifier X is a simple AppleScript utility to change the file type and creator type of files.
It offers several options for type/creator twiddling, including batch processing and type/creator shortcuts.

While similar to other freeware/shareware/commercial products that create applications that change the codes to a set value, this allows you to change them to a value you input, like ResEdit's info dialog.

It's also free and bare-bones simple. The nifty thing about File Transmogrifier X is that you don't need to open ResEdit (or drop something on it) and then get info on the item. Just drop a file and change away!
