fielder is an iTunes plug-in that attempts to show you the levels of sound playing in iTunes that your brain actually hears.

For every sample, fielder calculates and displays a vector representing the amplitude and direction of the sample. Size and color saturation represents the amplitude of the sample. Color hue is mapped to the most prominent frequency of the sample, with red representing low frequencies and white representing high frequencies.

Visualizing the stereo image can be helpful to sound designers and engineers during a mixing or post-production process, can help emphasize awareness of stereo perception, and it just looks cool.
