Default Folder X attaches a toolbar to the right side of the Open and Save dialogs in any OS X-native application (both Carbon and Cocoa).

The toolbar gives you fast access to various folders and commands. You just click on the buttons to go to your favorite and recently used folders, manage the folders and files shown in the list, and make changes to your settings.

Default Folder also fixes a number of problems in Open and Save dialogs, "rebounding" back to the last selected file, putting the path listing back in the top menu, and correcting bugs in scrolling column views.

Limitations:
30 day trial.

What's New:
Compatibility with pre-release versions of Mac OS 10.5 ("Leopard"). Note that you must be running Leopard seed 9A303 or higher. Default Folder X will not work with the WWDC seed of Leopard.
Improved stability and speed in Carbon applications.
Display of parent folders at the bottom of hierarchical menus is now optional.
You can now add multiple folders at once when adding Favorites in System Preferences.
Spotlight comments added to new files are appended to existing comments rather than replacing them. This preserves URLs and other information that an application may automatically add to new files itself.
Finder windows containing search results are not clickable, since the files shown in the window don't all have same location.
Corrected a bug that sometimes made it impossible to turn off the graying out of background windows.
The Finder Click feature now correctly highlights the title bar of a document window when a Save As sheet rolls down from it.
Fixed a bug that caused incorrect graying out of Save As dialogs in Fetch and Mailsmith.
Corrected some details in the Rebound function so that importing EPS images in Microsoft Word no longer bounces back and forth between two images.
Fixed a problem with iMovie HD opening two projects when you double-click on one.
Worked around a Cocoa bug that causes Mori not to open double-clicked files.
Default Folder X can skip any "are you sure?" warnings if you hold down the option key while using the "Move To Trash" command. There is now a switch in the Advanced tab of the settings to turn this feature on and off.
Error messages in the console saying "SetFinderComment failed with error -43" have been eliminated.
