Remember the good old classic game "Columns" Sharing much similarities with other games in it's genre, the game had and still has it's very own tempting gameplay. And now, with ColumnForge, you can enjoy the classic arcade game on your own mac with the latest version of Mac OS X.
In ColumnForge, you are challenged to archieve as high score as possible on the playfield by arranging falling pieces into color formations. You can move the falling piece sideways, down, and change the color order in it. When pieces form horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines with length of at least three pieces, they collapse and disappear, causing pieces above them to fall down. You are in game as long as your pieces don't reach the top of the playfield.
The key to success in ColumnForge is learning to use chain reactions to collect high scores. When the first pieces collapse after you drop the piece, you get 5 points for each piece cleared. If the pieces that fall from above the collapsing pieces form again another formation, you get 10 points for each piece cleared. After that you get 15, and so on.
Game level advances after every 30 pieces you have cleared, and the speed increases at the same time, and at level 20 and above, good reflexes are needed.
