When you disconnect your iMac from power, it relies on an internal battery to remember the date and time and some control panel settings.
After you install this update, your iMac will keep these settings for a longer period of time when disconnected from AC power.
IMPORTANT NOTE: After installing the iMac Power Management Update, you need to restart your iMac in Mac OS 9.1 or later at least once for this firmware to take effect. Once the firmware is installed, it is active for both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.
After installing the update, your iMac will restart.
