SmartVideo is a memory based video capture program intended to capture QuickTime movies of short events. The program continuously captures video into a RAM buffer that is written to disk when a trigger occurs.
A trigger can occur due to a difference between frames so the program operates automatically, with a push of the Grab Button for manual operation, or from an Apple Event so it can be triggered by Apple Script.
The most important part of the program is the ability to capture video before and after the trigger, which can be controlled using a variable trigger delay.
SmartVideo is intended for extracting video clips from video but you will be amazed by the fun you can have just looking at delayed video of yourself from a camcorder connected to your Mac.
