Entourage "forgets" any open message windows when it quits.
Run the SaveRestoreMsgWin script before you quit and again after relaunching, and the messages that were open should be reopened.

To install put the script in HOME/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Entourage Script Menu Items, and run it from the Entourage script menu.
