PSCafePOS is a Point of Sale system that is designed to be used in a educational envrionment.  It will work will nearly any SIS system.  It is written in Java, and its roadmap is defined by the requests of the community.

PSCafePOS will run on almost any SIS system.  It will directly connect to any SIS that has a database which is ODBC complaint.

So far we have not found a SIS that it will not run on.  As long as you can create an ODBC connection to your SIS, then we will probably be able to get PSCafePOS to connect to it.  Even if your SIS uses Microsoft Access as it's backend, it will probably work!

If you can not directly connect to your database, but you can export student demographic information to a text file, then you could also use PSCafePOS by uploading your data into it's own SIS tables!

PSCafePOS is a POS System of educational environments that handles free and reduced lunches, and student credit.  PSCafePOS will integrate with nearly any Student Information System such as Powerschool, which replaces PowerLunch, or Sunguard Penatmation.

The system includes a Point of Sale System that supports Touchscreen monitors, barcode scanners, and cash drawers.  PSCafePOS also includes a management portal that allows for reporting, managing of student credit accounts, and cashier users.  PSCafePOS also includes a simple parent access portal with account activation that allows parents to view the status of their students credit account, and order history.

PSCafePOS is a Point of Sale System designed for use in educational settings.  It is made of three main parts, a POS, or cash register, a php based management portion, and a parent access portal (not yet completed).  The POS is written in Java and can run on nearly any operating system.

Here are some key features of "PSCafePOS":
Platform independent.
Open-source and free.
Supports touch-screen monitors, barcode scanners, and cash drawers (currently only APG).
Support for  all JDBC compliant SISs.
Easy to setup and scallable.
HotBar - a menu to displays the most frequently sold items for each register.
Community driven, the project roadmap will be driven largely by the requests of the users.
