ImagePort is a Photoshop import XTension for QuarkXPress that allows you to place layered Photoshop files directly in QuarkXPress 4, 5 or 6.

At present, Photoshop images containing layers must be "flattened," or stripped of all layering information before they can be imported into a QuarkXPress layout. ImagePort saves designers tremendous time by eliminating the need to "flatten" an image to be used in QuarkXPress.
ImagePort retains full control of layers, channels and paths once the image is imported into the QuarkXPress document.

ImagePort even allows the user to manipulate layers, channels and paths. Layers can be turned ON and OFF and the user has full control over layer opacity and blending mode. Channels can be turned ON and OFF, or designated to print as any QuarkXPress color. Paths can be designated for use as a clipping path or for text runaround.

Here are some key features of "ImagePort":
Skip the usual step of flattening an image and saving it in a different file format for import into QuarkXPress.
No longer switch continually between QuarkXPress and Photoshop to adjust an image until it looks right in the layout.
Save hard disk space by needing only one file for use with both Photoshop and QuarkXPress.
Store several versions of the same image in a single Photoshop file, import the image into a QuarkXPress document, then show and hide the layers with a click of the mouse to control which version of the image prints. You might use this for regional versions of the same ad or for proposals you're presenting to a client.
Experiment with different versions of an image within a layout by simply switching layers. For example, you might store several different backdrop images in the same Photoshop file.
Modify opacities and try different blend methods such as dissolve, lighten, and difference - all within the context of the entire layout.
Assign channels to be spot colors, varnishes, embossing, die cuts, or other special effects.
Print color separations of RGB, CMYK, multichannel, and indexed colors from QuarkXPress.
Replace selected indexed colors with spot colors.
Choose different clipping paths to control which areas of the image display.
Explore different text wrap options by choosing different paths saved with an image.

What's New:
Improved overall stability
Added support for multiple languages to the 6.x version
Improved compatibility with other imaging related xtensions (like Full Res Preview)

Requirements:
QuarkXPress 4.1 or later.
