The most common use for Notepad is to view or edit text (.txt) files, but many users find Notepad a simple tool for creating messages to send as SMS or e-mail attachments.
Editing Functionality
Selection mode can be used to select words or characters for editing purposes. Cut text to move it to a different location, or application, Copy text to paste it to another location or application, and Paste test that you cave copied from any application to the cursor position. There are also Delete and Undo functions to remove text or changes you have made. You can even insert the current time and date. Append, merge, or insert different files with the Insert File option.
Text Searching
You can specify characters or words to search for, the matching text will automatically be highlighted and scrolled into visibility. Search Next functionality makes it easy to find the next occurrence of the search string.
Connectivity (Send Files)
You can e-mail the file as an attachment, or send the file as one or more SMS messages, you will even be told before hand how many SMS messages will be required. Simply choose the Send via command, and select the recipient from your phones contact list. Contacts that you have previously sent SMS messages to can be chosen from the recent menu for easier access.
Recent File List
The files that you use are remembered so that you can rapidly open files without searching for them each time. When the file is opened from the Recent menu, it will be opened and scrolled to the last position of the cursor when the file was last used. Orneta Notepad remembers the last position you have read or edited. All settings are saved to the registry, not to the file, so that they will be available the next time you open the file, but not saved in the file.
Document Appearance
Change the Font and Style to suite your needs. View more of the document at once with a small font, or read the document easier or from a distance with a large font. The font selection screen will show you a preview of the font's appearance, chose the exact font and style you need. Wrapping text enables you to see all the text from each line, but it doesn't affect the way the text is saved.
Easy File Management
Open or save files to any location on your phone, including the storage card, thanks to the built in mini file explorer. The built in file explorer opens to the last folder and file you selected to make navigation easier. You can optionally specify the name of a file as an argument to automatically open the file when it is started. For example you can save 'document.lnk' to the Start Menu with the contents "56#"StorageWindowsStart MenuAccessoriesOrnetaNotepad.exe" Storage Carddocument.txt", to enable a document to open directly from the Start Menu. You can associate Orneta Notepad with any extension, for example Text (.txt) files.
Configurability
You can set the default input type, Spell (Multi-tap), Ambiguous (T9), Number (123), Text (abc), which will be available each time you use the application. You can enable the display of the filename in the title bar, as well as view the current file size in the title bar.
