Troi File Plug-in is a very powerful tool for getting access to information outside the FileMaker Pro database. Any files stored on the rest of the computer can be accessed through the functions of the plug-in.

Troi File Plug-in 3 is completely rewritten to be FileMaker 7 native, allowing it to make use of the advanced syntax, like multiple, self-explanatory parameters and support for Unicode.

Here are some key features of "Troi File Plugin":

  • get the data out of files on the disk of the computer and put it in FileMaker fields
  • create files anywhere on the hard disk and put data from FileMaker fields into it
  • manipulate files and folders on the disk, like creating, deleting, copying, moving, renaming
  • query detailed information of files: the size on disk, creation and modification dates and much more
  • count the number of folders or files on a disk
  • get images and the meta information (IPTC, EXIF) of those images inside your FileMaker database.

  • (Mac OS X) Fixed a bug that prevented the plug-in from loading in FileMaker Pro 7./
  • Added a consistency check for missing resources. The plug-in can for example miss resource files after being incorrectly zipped or tarred.
  • Updated the User Guide for version 3.5. We also improved the links in the table of contents, so the links now also work with the Preview application of Mac OS X.
