TarPit 1.2 is utilities software developed by Michael Austin.
TarPit creates tar archives by drag-n-drop. Also has compression options using GZip, BZip2, Compress (or none) with adjustable compression level.

TarPit also features a customizable omission list for easily excluding files from archives.

What's New:

  • Added option for setting the cache location (for small boot partitions).
  • Added option for moving originals to trash.
  • Added option for pausing running jobs.
  • Added option for abbreviated file-extensions.
  • Added option for wildcards on omission list.
  • Added option for case-sensitivity on omission list.

  • Added window to confirm quitting if there are archiving jobs still running.
  • Fixed interface lag during MacBinary encoding.
  • Now it is donationware (website has a PayPal link).
