The widget fetches SOHO’s latest MDI picture from http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/sunspots/.
SOHO, the Solar & Heliospheric Observatory, is a spacecraft observing our Sun, launched in 1995 by the European Space Agency ESA and by the American National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
This information software is freeware, which means you can download and use Sunspots 1.0 absolutely free. There's no need to buy the product. Sunspots 1.0 supports english interface languages and works with Mac OS X.
