SmoothKit provides the ultimate filter set to smooth your imagery by combining user-directed controls and feature-sensitive methods.

SmoothKit is a set of filters that complements the basic blurs provided by host applications. SmoothKit's emphasis is precise control of the filtering process with no compromise on image quality. For example, wouldn't it be useful to smooth out the skin in someone's face but not eliminate the details of the hair that hangs in front of the face? In addition to "effects", the SmoothKit toolset can be used to reduce image defects in a much more intelligent manner.
What's New:

  • Fixed a problem with crashing and hanging on multiprocessor Windows machines when deleting a plugin from a project or quitting a host application.

    Here are some key features of "SmoothKit":
  • Ability to selectively filter the luminance, or the chrominance, or each of the RGB channels independently
  • Ability to limit how much each pixel may change via a "Maximum Deviation" control
  • Optional grayscale images may be used to scale filters on a pixel-by-pixel basis
  • Includes a jaggie-reducing filter, to help eliminate staircasing (especially useful in frames that have been reconstructed from fields)
  • Intelligently reduces block artifacts (for example, DV or MPEG compressed footage)
  • Ability to soften areas without blurring edges
  • Directional filtering with per-pixel direction and strength controls
  • Multi-frame (temporal) filtering with several processing modes
  • 8 and 16 bpc support.

  • Adobe's After Effects 4.1 or later. NOTE: To use Twixtor Pro's interactive guiding capabilities using After Effects' masks, you must be using AE 5.0 or later.

  • Apple's Final Cut Pro 1.2.5 or later. NOTE for OS X users: If you are using FCP on OS X, you must be running at least FCP 3.0.4.
