Smiley is a small application that makes it easy to add new emoticons to iChat and iChat AV applications. With Smiley, you can add prebuilt emoticon packs or create your own images and add them easily and quickly.

Use iChat or iChat AV? Ever wish you could change or modify the emoticons? Other chatting applications let you to enable or disable the emoticons, change the images, swap out sets, and edit the text equivalents to suit you. Now, with Smiley, you can, too. Smiley is all you need to make iChat truly your own. And with the ability to create your own epacks, you can easily distribute your emoticons to all of your friends.

WSIWYG
From the main screen, you can see the emoticons, their names, and their ASCII equivalents. Everything is right up front and easy to see in a comprehensive table. You'll never wonder how something looks because Smiley shows you!
Easy editing
Editing individual entries is easy. You can change the name, key equivalents, or the image. Simply drag and drop an image onto the image well and retype what you want into the fields and click "Apply." Smiley will handle the rest. Make a change but want to take it back? Smiley lets you revert to the last changed listing or all the way back to the original file.

Open source
Smiley is free software. That doesn't just mean that it doesn't cost anything (which it doesn't), it also means that it is free for you to use and change! Smiley is released under the GPL license. If you've ever wondered how to work with authentication, you can look into the Smiley source (I guarantee it won't be much simpler). If you want to know how to add pictures to tables, grab the source (it is really easy). If you want to add a feature or review the code, go for it. Just send FCS any changes that think should be made or you have already made and it'll be added to the official source files.
