QXPort 3.03 is dtp prepress software developed by bitmix, cross.
qXport is an Addin for Microsoft Word, which converts Word documents to QuarkXPress. qXport tries to convert as much as possible of the Word structures, which are also available in QuarkXPress.

At the same time qXport ignores much of the useless Word stuff, since these files are often not prepared optimally. qXport runs with all Word-Versionx starting from Word 97 (Mac und Win) and supports QuarkXPress starting from Version 3.x (including XPress 5) for Mac and Win.

Here are some key features of "QXPort":

  • Paragraph- and character-based style sheets
  • Special typographical characters
  • Numbered/bulleted lists and outlines including special characters
  • Colored text
  • Tables converted to text with tabs (for XPress) or native InDesign tables (for InDesign)
  • Footnotes and endnotes shown at end of document
  • Full support of symbol character sets such as Symbol,
  • Wingdings and Zapf Dingbats
  • Full support of indexes: qXport recognizes index tags in Word and prepares them for use with Index-Xtension in QuarkXPress 4.x and higher versions (or InDesign CS).
