Foundation 4.2 is developer tools software developed by Dave Batton.
Foundation 4 is a 4th Dimension 2003 structure file designed to be used as a starting point for new database projects.

Simply add your tables and fields, and create input and output forms using Foundation's templates and inherited forms. Then just switch to the Custom Menus environment and use your database.


Foundation is also a collection of 4D components. These components can be individually installed in any 4th Dimension 2003 database, even if it wasn't created with Foundation.

This allows you to easily add Foundation features to your current projects.

  • Fixed a bug that might cause output forms to become unresponsive for ten seconds after double-clicking on a record that's already open. (Fnd_IO)
  • Added a new protected method to measure the width of the longest string in a text array. (Fnd_Gen).

    Requirements:
  • 4th Dimension 2003 or higher.
    Foundation 4.2 supports different languages (including english). It works with Mac OS X.
